Ah, cool. How did you discover those? I enjoyed the couple CTF competitions that Stripe put on, but I’ve not done any others.

What competitions did you used to do?

I used it when I was traveling with laptop and iPad, to have a bit more screen.

Duet Display works pretty well to treat the iPad as a monitor for the Mac, if that ever comes up as a need.

I think I heard of some hardware dongle that does an even better job (Luna something?), but I rarely have need of even Duet.

My optometrist has a few displays, all with free access. They’re a pretty chill family business though.

Makes sense. Are you writing Kotlin these days?

Nice! The long skinny version sounds convenient.

Yes, I use an off-brand. I tend to just tear a very small chunk off as needed - just enough to grip between fingers and not lose that grip while rubbing at whatever needs cleaning.

I’m expecting these to last at least 5 years. I think they’ve already crossed the year mark.

Edit: Yup, ordered 2018-03-05. Already at almost 16 months.

I never used regular EarPods. Prefer in-ear to wall out noise without needing active noise cancellation. So dunno. I originally got them for my wife, but they felt uncomfortable to her, so I inherited them.

They work well enough for me as I use them now - quick way to convert a phone call into hands-free, easy opportunistic music or podcast listening while still able to hear the kids if they need me, safe to run in since I can hear what’s going on around me…

The big win for me is them storing away in a charging case that lives in my pocket. I always have them, so I wind up actually using them.

They really are amazing at that. Brand name around here is “Magic Eraser,” which has proven apt.
