Also fun was pegging the CPU accidentally while learning to program back before we all had multicore machines. That at least isn't an issue much any more.

Plans for next three days: Learn me some Android dev.

See how long it takes co-workers to realize you're just looping "Crucify My Love". ;)

Sounds fun!

My not-yet-four-months-old daughter is army crawling. WE'RE ALL DOOMED.

What trade are you planning to learn?

They're pulling in a more comprehensive notion of "safe areas" for view layout that they developed originally in the context of tvOS.

I suspect before iOS 11 is shipped, Apple will have fixed that regression using a LinkedOnOrAfter check in UIKit in order to give older apps a pass by preserving the old behavior more faithfully.

Ah. They deprecated the old top layout guide in favor of a new system. But for an app built against the iOS 10 SDK like this, I'd say it's a bug that they didn't preserve the existing behavior, yeah.

Successfully fought urge to respond to a comment about diversity in tech with, Down with the little-endian monoculture! Though the tech vs people in tech metonymy there is kind of interesting if you dwell on it.

It's no option. It's always on. Just tried it. Worked with both shift and 123, but only when ducking into cap/symbol mode, not going the other way.
