I think rolled are literally rolled over with a mill stone to flatten them. Since the hull gets broken and they get uniformly quite thin, they cook extra fast, kind of like how hammered chicken cooks in a jif.

I learned a lot of that back in the early 2000s. Now I just keep putting off picking up the newer flex box and grid layout models because I'm not hot and bothered about layout just now.

Fortran remains heavily used in science. And often still the 77 version rather than anything newer. It's not a pretty thing.
