Bludgeoned a steel swingset A frame joint onto a 6x4. Poor fit. Did last 4 inches using the backside of a splitting axe, metal on metal. Bent the heck out of the lip, but got it on far enough at last. Wouldn’t have made it that far if neighbor hadn’t lent me a belt sander to reduce size of the wood beam once I was partway on and could hammer no further.

Took a couple ibuprofen. Hands already swelling. Last time I did something like this it was chipping an outlet out of brick miner style - hand was sore for a few days after. But darnit I showed that bracket. >.>

@peemee and yeah airdrop is funny. I have my laptop hardwired and apparently airdrop and facetime both rely on wifi, so i can’t airdrop or facetime call from my laptop unless i turn on wifi and connect to the same wifi basestation. weird failure to me since they’re on the same network and can even bonjour each other.

@peemee Airplane only seems to block activating cell. Otherwise just a shortcut to turn off wifi and bt. When no cell, seems to save maybe a tap?

@peemee Yeah. Activating Airplane kills them both IIRC, but it’s a tap to turn them back on while leaving Airplane Mode on.

(I still don’t know what the point of Airplane Mode is on a wifi-only iPad or iPod Touch beyond maybe signaling compliance to flight attendants…)

@matigo I haven't run into one yet. But I'd also like the expensive hardware with sensors and secure enclaves and jazz in a separate package than the cheap hardware that's little more than buttons.

@matigo Is the Starred Posts stream still around? Or not yet implemented?

@streakmachine The keyboard is irrelevant for “portable desktop” uses. All my typing is on an external keyboard. And having TouchID has been amazing. (It’s the only thing saving it from clamshell mode.)

Fixed the self-mention and broken starring issues.

@matigo The post docs [docs.10centuries.org] are missing a required detail about how to star - they omit that you need to send in the persona_guid in the JSON body to say who you're starring as.

(Also, none of the docs headings have anchors, so I can't actually link you to the specific section!)
