@matigo Ah, that makes sense. In the “dunno we just stick stuff in” use, triggers become one way you can forget crud is happening to your data. And then you corrupt your own plans over here with the trigger from the plan over there.
@matigo It is similar, but the difference in going from thoughts in sapience to feelings in sentience matters. Being aware of pain gives the “no way you’re getting me into that carrier to go to the vet” cat experience. 😆
@matigo Got a link?
(I’m curious as I am using an after update trigger to record a ModifiedDate automatically.)
@matigo Wikipedia’s Sentience article [en.m.wikipedia.org] claims:
In 1997 the concept of animal sentience was written into the basic law of the European Union. The legally binding protocol annexed to the Treaty of Amsterdam recognises that animals are "sentient beings", and requires the EU and its member states to "pay full regard to the welfare requirements of animals".
No citations though.
@matigo Long shot wild guess: The Axe accessibility scanning add-on was somehow setting a gajillion cookies and overflowing max HTTP request lengths on me recently. If you’ve got it installed, try disabling.
@variablepulserate I’ve seen several proposals for that as well. 😂 Often as a way to resolve major civil and cultural disagreements.

@matigo I’ve never had such a problem. The XIP verification takes a ridiculous amount of time, but it all checks out. And since I moved to using the App Store version, I haven’t even had to worry about that.
@joeo10 Wow, that would make cross-country travel and collaboration so much easier. A team with both Eastern and Pacific Time sucks.
@phoneboy Georgia currently has a House bill for eternal Daylight time and a Senate bill for eternal Standard time. I don’t think anyone’s brought up shifting timezones - yet.
I wonder if Federal properties would still observe DST regardless…
