@larand that’s just a stereotype. Non-Canadians use maple syrup. Canadians have pancakes with beer ?

@c In Firefox, Chrome, and Vivaldi on my Mac, I use Shift-Cmd-t to reopen the last closed tab. Safari decided to use Cmd-z. I haven’t thought to try Cmd-z in the others as my mental model isn’t “undo last action” but expressly “reopen that tab”.

@matigo I think the darn variant requires talking about socks patched. “Behold my sock drawer. Lo, each has been darned, and I have no more darn to give.”
@matigo Waiting till it’s awful has been my MO as well, but my doctor advised to try to nip them in the bud instead, so I’m giving that a shot for a change. Seems to lead to less suffering overall. But headaches are a diverse and obnoxious beast.

@JeremyCherfas Yes, it’s more useful when you frequent more channels, and less organized ones. :)

@JeremyCherfas Mainly bouncers are good for idling on your behalf and storing messages to replay them when you connect. (I run ZNC.)
Textual is a quite nice Mac client. I use Palaver on iOS.

@larand Ah, yeah, that is quite a ways up! Sounds good they are getting to know the whole division directly.
/@matigo
@streakmachine IRC security is kind of a mess, DCC is awful, and NickServ is an awful hack. If Jabber multi-user chatrooms were better, that might fix most of IRC’s awful, but they’ve been atrocious IME.
@streakmachine Which UNIX book? If it’s Lions’ Commentary, you are in for a good time. :)
