I keep pocketing my wedding band so my finger can dry or so it doesn’t get dirty, and then forgetting it’s in my pocket for hours at a time. >.< I guess it beats losing it.

I’m vaguely tempted by the idea of getting a ring or two, but not enough to actually but anything, apparently.

How have you wound up using containers?

I used to use tab groups extensively, but containers so far have failed to fill that void for me. Maybe I should give them another go, but disable all the actual isolation aspects…

Everybody fetishizes Google/Facebook/etc Scale and wants to pretend they have their problems. They see them headed towards document and column stores and trail along without thinking.

I run into people on small projects evaluating databases when the entire dataset would be happy in an Excel spreadsheet or flat file.

People don’t seem to want to think about their data needs and constraints. Go figure.
