@larand Glad it went well! How many levels up is the Senior Director from you? Does your company mostly not do skip-level 1:1s?

@matigo For me, it has been Slack, more completely than did Campfire before it. I expect to come back to 5-10 emails after a week out of office. 5 of those will be automated Basecamp daily summaries.

@streakmachine IRC without a bouncer sucks. With a bouncer and a decent client, it’s not bad.
@peemee I’m weighing that up too. I should probably be buying 2 licenses, since my wife and I share it. Starts making the subscription seem cheaper. But really depends on time to next paid upgrade.
@js Nope, no autosave yet. It hasn’t come up as an issue for anyone in the past - guess most people are 10Cing with a stable connection.
You can select all and copy if you suspect connection problems as a work around. (I do that all the time with web forms.)

@matigo I like to bury it about 10 clicks deep. Discourages casual emailing. ;)
@matigo Ah, busted Unicode in a programming language string parser, what a surprise. :\
Could you do the splitting at the raw data level before it stringifies it? (Betting not likely)
Or make the splitting character dynamic, and pick one that doesn’t conflict with post content? (PITA)
Or use a length + text rather than text + separator approach? (Might be most promising)

@matigo Port blocking before 9 am?
But yeah, I moved my phone well away from the bed at night to reduce the temptation to read and tap. Would probably work here too by removing the instrument of email.
