How does a mess up give you a ton more music?

! Isn't your dev env an RPi?!

I was on Dreamhost with Wordpress to start. DigitalOcean was cheaper for a full VPS, not just shared hosting, so I switched. I still use Dreamhost as my registrar, though.

The Docker thing is a poor excuse. Should be able to have it send syslogs to a service outside the container, or mount a host log file at the container path where the logs are going on disk, or run a shell inside the container and nose around. Plenty of ways to get logs out of a container!

I'm using LetsEncrypt with a VPS on DigitalOcean right now. My cronjob doesn't seem to be poking it into auto-refreshing, so I log in and run the exact same commands once every three months. Not been annoying enough to debug yet.

Beautiful! And wonderful use of small watercolor paintings, too.

I picked up what reading ability I have in Pascal through trying to understand classic Mac memory management and Toolbox usage. Not hugely useful now, but I did take away a practice of storing the return value of a function in a variable named after that function from Pascal. I think it's a very clear and expressive convention.

As I gave it a go, I found I could use more practice, too. I do find lists a better fit than prose for journaling on the run, though, that's for sure.

You can stay listy and still go beyond grocery list through choice of detail. The trick to avoiding essays is probably picking images, scents, and sounds that are personally evocative (assuming it's a personal journal).

Lemme test that by sketching a bit of my yesterday:

  • Slept in unexpected room after "bed shopping" for soft bed.
  • Patio door open/close game while grandpa walked other kids. Peekaboo through sliding glass door. Jumping on deck to splash water.

I bet that's a lot easier to do day-of. And also need practice selecting what to omit.
